SPLASH TSUNAMI APPEAL...

...was great fun!

Volcano ~ Damien Rice
Wires ~ Athlete
Sold ~ Justin Thorne
Sail Away ~ David Gray
Cannonball ~ Damien Rice
Diamonds on the Inside ~ Ben Harper

Fun set and great to have a full band, although when jamming it's always sketchy without rehearsing but most of the set was tight. Ali McGovern added great harmonies to Volcano and Wires and Pete played bass and Alex played percussion.

It was a great surprise for Skintight to turn up and funk up the place with Reggae and awesome slap-bass gymnastics for 'Car Wash'. Dougie Joseph still has the moves.

THURSDAY @ MOODY BLUES

I am opening for Derrin and will be on at about 7ish... Derrin goes on at 8:45 I think.

Come and check it out.

TSUNAMI APPEAL OPEN MIC, WATERSPLASH, SATURDAY 29th

Don't forget I am playing at the Splash on Saturday night along with Ali McGovern, Pasty Pete, Medhi Padidar and Scott and anyone else who turns up to play. All proceeds, including album sales, go to the appeal.

I am also playing at the Moody Blues on Thursday 10th February, opening for the excellent Australian Guitarist/Singer, Derrin Nauendorf

Heading to New York in March, hopefully to play a few shows, and more importantly, to meet with a producer and lay down a track in his studio. Watch this space. I will also try and hook up with the Director of that movie who is using 'Sold' on the soundtrack.

Saturday 29th January

WATERSPLASH are holding a special open mic for the Tsunami Appeal as a chilled alternative to the Q BAR rocking night.

Come and check it out, Pete will be host as always and if all goes well, Scott and Medhi Padidar will be playing in addition to myself and anyone else who turns up to perform.

And I will be at the Splash this Friday for the open mic too, with Le Music Room.

Live Aid For Asia 2005

Was great fun. It's a shame I was on so early (6pm) as the place was nearly empty and later on it was so busy you couldn't move, but I was just glad I was asked to play and it's for a worthy cause, to say the least.

Alex Glendining was great to turn up and play some percussion for my tunes, it's been a while since I played with Percussionista and it felt good.

Set:

Volcano
I'm so cold, son
Insane
Lonely Road
Sold
Sail Away

I stuck around and enjoyed sets by Malarky, Benny the Moth and The Big Hellos.

I will try and get a few gigs at the Moody Blues, it's a great venue and has a good vibe to the place.

On FRIDAY, I am playing for the first time with a new ROCK band at the Splash open mic. Some great musicians and we play some fun songs including SMOOTH, by Santana, CALIFORNICATION by the Chilli Peppers and RIDERS ON THE STORM by the Doors to name but a few!!!

Come and check it out.

Okay, I kick off the proceedings on Saturday night at 6pm. at the Moody Blues.

Should be a good night.

Oops,

Seems I am playing at THE MOODY BLUES on Saturday night and not the BLUE NOTE BAR as reported.

Sorry, see you then!!!
