Meet The Chiefs...

Most of you know that I am playing shows with a great band and we're calling ourselves Justin Thorne & The Chiefs... well, I'd like you to meet them:

We played a great gig at the Splash yesterday afternoon outside on the terrace with our guest band, The Jackson Moody Band... they were brilliant.

We play there every fortnight and have a different band each time... at the next Sunset Session, we are lucky enough to have the awesome MOOG playing an acoustic set... and hopefully their excellent version of the Bergerac theme tune, heh!

Anyway... meet The Chiefs!

On the left there we have Alex Glendining on percussion and anything you can rap, tap or bap... rattle, jingle, shake or prod!

On kit, we have the incredible Alex Moody... we're borrowing him from The Jackson Moody Band.

On bass, vocals and attitude, we have the infinitely reliable and talented Pete Newton... some of you will recognize him as Pasty Pete, the host of the Splash open mic nights on Fridays... a talented singer-songwriter in his own right, we are hoping to add some of his tunes to the set in the coming months with me singing back-up and playing bass!

And together, we form Justin Thorne & The Chiefs.

And played five new original tunes in the set... funky little numbers for the summer:

It's summer somewhere
Hold on
Same, same
We surrendered
Maybe we don't belong

See you at the next Sunset Session and MASSIVE thanks to Andy over at Funky Puffin for the photos... they also happen to make THE BEST surf wax in the world... click on the link to find out more.
